We couldn't do it alone.

A large part of our success rests on the close, strategic relationships we have with our partners, each of whom has contributed unique insights and perspective.

Choctaw Nation

The Choctaw Nation in Oklahoma maintains the Choctaw Ranch (CR), producing very high quality Angus beef.  The CR supplies EnviroBeef with cattle to be fed our anti-methane seaweed and omega-3 supplements for testing in commercial and university feedyards.

Xcel Feedlot

The Xcel feedlot in Watonga OK maintains a very high-quality operation both testing and feeding about 35,000 head of high quality cattle for high end restaurants. The feedlot has fed alternative microalgae products for EnviroBeef to test the performance of the cattle and the omega-3 levels and taste.  In early commercial operations EnviroBeef Co. will have the Xcel produce high quality cattle supplemented with the anti-methane seaweed and the omega-3 algae for us to be able to initiate sales of EnviroBeef to restaurants and small-scale retailers.

Oklahoma State University

Oklahoma State University (OSU) performed the original research feeding the microalgae (omega-3 algae) supplement to cattle. OSU has tested alternate cattle feed diets for EnviroBeef and performed meat and taste tests. Based on tests and computer models at OSU the EnviroBeef Company developed protocols for feeding microalgae to cattle with various commercial diets containing alternate feed ingredients worldwide. The protocols established the specific amounts of omega-3 algae supplement to combine with various cattle feed diets to optimize the omega-3 levels in the Omega3Beef (now EnviroBeef) without affecting the productivity of feeding cattle in commercial feedyards, or affecting the meat quality or taste.

Texas A&M

Texas A&M (TAMU) leads the nation in testing meat quality especially for fatty acids and tastes. TAMU has demonstrated that the Omega3Beef (now EnviroBeef), which OSU produced for us by feeding the microalgae supplement, had no significantly different taste profiles from regular beef. Texas A&M also measured the omega-3 levels in Omega3Beef, and determined that it contained about 180mg of DHA and EPA per 8 oz. serving, confirming tests at OSU.

University of Nebraska Lincoln

University of Nebraska Lincoln (UNL) worked with our founder Dr. Donald Smith to develop techniques for testing the ability of alternative microalgae products to work effectively in the “hostile” conditions of the rumen (stomachs) of cattle.  Based on this in vitro (in the laboratory) work O3B (now EnviroBeef Co.) obtained data from UNL with which to source microalgae which has both 1) high levels of omega-3s inside, 2) strong cell walls (skin) to protect the omega-3s inside from destruction in the rumen, and 3) which released the omega-3s in the small intestine to be absorbed into the blood stream of cattle.

Clint Krehbiel, Ph.D.

Formerly holding an endowed chair as a Regents professor of Animal Science at Oklahoma State University, then Head of Animal Science Department at University of Nebraska Lincoln, and now Dean of Davis College of Agricultural and Natural Resources at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Dr. Clint Krehbiel is a world leader in cattle nutrition.  Working with UNL and OSU, he has helped us develop ocean microalgae supplemented diets that are practical with any cattle species and with any cattle feed….all designed to maximize the omega-3 levels in the beef.
